City Services

City Services consists of sanitation, streets, parks and recreation and cemeteries. This department is led by a supervisor with six employees. Dept. of Corrections work release inmates are also utilized within this department. The City owns and operates a Transfer Site for individuals and business to dispose of their solid waste along with residential twice a week pickup.

 

The City has four parks located in each section of the City for the children of Love County to enjoy.

 

There are two cemeteries that are owned and operated by the City. Both cemeteries are located SE of the City.

 

The water system is operated by a Public Trust and there are currently three wells that serve the City.

Animal Control

 

All costs incurred by the City for seizing, impounding, confining or handling of any dangerous animal shall be charged to the owner of the animal.

Dangerous Dog

 

· Any dog that has inflicted injury on a person

· Any dog that has been previously found to be potentially dangerous by the animal control officer

 

Potentially Dangerous Dog

 

When a dog that is unprovoked acts in an aggressive manner or exhibits behavior that required defensive action by a human or attacks a person or another domestic animal, the Animal Control Officer will serve written notice on the owner or custodian of the dog.

· Any dog that, when unprovoked, bites or engages in behavior that requires defensive action by any person

· Any dog that, when unprovoked, attacks a domestic animal
